This week my "baby" will be 2 years old! We celebrated his birthday this weekend with our family and we had a great time. My mother in law made a great point...we now have so many kids with just our family that we don't have much room for more! I looked around and she was so right! We had 8 kids and they were all cousins...and then when you add Sadie (coming soon) and Greyson (coming in November) we're a full house! So, it was fun to look around at our growing family. And baby Abigayle made an appearance, so I will post some pictures of her sweet face too! Today, I just wanted to look back at the day Sutton was born. I feel so blessed to have him in our lives. He is a very fun little man....he's shy at first, but will open up once he gets to know you. Sutton doesn't like to be the center of attention (but his mom and Max sure do!). Sutton is a loving, cuddly guy but he loves to wrestle! He loves swords...matter of fact the other day he told me to go back home to get his sword. But, it sounded like this..."Mom, home, sword." I knew what he meant...I speak Sutton!
This is a picture of Max at the hospital holding his new brother...I love the look on Max's face. I love how big the pacifier looks in Sutton's mouth....

I don't know if it was Karissa or Greg who took this picture, but I just love it! Greg is standing in the baby nursery to bring Sutton out to show them and this is our family waiting on the other side of the glass to see him! I love the look on Max's face! And, you can see the joy on everyone else's faces too! This is the stuff that we miss as moms, so thanks to whoever took this pic! I have another one of Max that is really neat but I can't find it. If I find it, I will add it too!
Here is my sweet cheeks! He is obviously a few months older...but I loved this one! He still looks the same to me now...just older and still bald!

Sutton always had this "deer in the headlights" look on his face and this picture reminded me of it. His eyes were always so wide and open....when he was awake, he was awake. Sutton, you were a great baby. Sometimes you slept so much that I thought something was wrong with you, but you're just a great sleeper. Today, at 2 years old, you still take a 2-4 hour nap a day and you sleep 12 hours at night. You still let me rock you at night and you like me to sing you songs. The other night daddy and I both got in the rocker and cuddled you. I sang you a song and when I was done, you just whispered, "more". Our hearts just melted. So now every night you have started saying that to me....you like me to sing to you. And, I will be honest, I love it too! The other night daddy snuck you to bed before I could get my cuddle time in, so I went in and got you! I know one day you will be too old or too big for me to rock you at night (unless I want to be the psycho mom in the book, "I'll love you forever")
Happy Birthday little man! You are a sweet treasure! Thank you Lord for allowing us to parent him. Help us to know daily the steps to take to bring him to you. Give us patience in our parenting, remind us to slow down, and give us a great memory to remember these little blessings~

Wow....that was really neat. It doesn't seem that long ago we were standing on the other side of the window...and Max was screaming at Drew, MY BABY....that was so cute, it showed at a very early age, Max would protect Sutton....they are such good brothers....I can't believe how time flies....and I cracked up at the "Love you forever" comment.....he isn't too big now to sneak in and rock...but once he is married...I would probably back off....Hahaha!!!
Happy birthday little man! you are an angel!
SOOO funny about the rocking comment and sneaking in when he's 30 and married! You are such a good mommy. Thanks for walking beside me in motherhood and making me a better mommy. It is so good to watch you and Becki and Steph and do this together. So blessed to have these little guys in my life. Thanks for the cute post!
