You knew it was coming....

Well, you that know me well just know that I can't stand to keep my mouth shut when it comes to politics. Or actually, I don't love politics...no it makes my stomach turn. But, I do love having an opportunity to have a say and to vote on the future of our country! A good friend of mine sent this to me and said she is actually making t-shirts out of this! (Don't worry, she does it for a living, I bet they will be adorable!) I do love Sarah Palin and I love the excitement she is bringing to the McCain campaign. I will admit that months ago I was not all that excited about John McCain but as he was my best choice, I started listening and learning about him. IF you will take the time to educate yourself on John McCain, if nothing else, you will be touched, amazed and inspired by his story as a prisoner of war for 5 years. What absolutely breaks my heart the most is to see that even to this day, he still can't raise his arms above his shoulders because of the abuse he suffered as a pow. You will notice that he can hardly raise his arms...appearing to be really stiff. But as I think of the personal sacrifice that he made for me, and for my family, I can't help but want to honor him.

I just wanted to post this image to let you know where my loyalty stands...not that you care! This upcoming election is very important and I hope every family takes it very seriously to make their vote count. Just do me a favor, if you aren't going to vote, then don't complain in the future about how you don't like this or that. And if you become passionate as you learn more, use that passion to encourage others to vote...to educate themselves. We have no excuses!

I'm praying for John McCain to be our next president...and Sarah Palin has shown to be a great fit for him. One great point my democratic sister said to me the other day was that Sarah Palin is the only one out of McCain, Obama and Biden that has Executive Experience. The office of President of the United States is an Executive position. Becki reminded me of a little history lesson: we have three levels of government 1) Executive, 2) Judicial and 3) Legislative. John McCain has had over 20 years experience in Legislative, I believe Obama had about 173 days. But neither of them have had the Executive experience that Sarah has had through her office as Mayor and Governor. So, I believe she's a great fit and will prove herself to be an incredible asset.

And, now....stepping down off of my soap box! Have a good day!

I love you Laura and this passion in the last year that I had not known about you before. Thanks for researching so much and for sharing your passion on something like a blog so that it's not offensive and I can stop reading if I want. It's a good place to talk about things like politics that can be so full of emotion and passion. Love you!

Love me some politics! Cory and I discuss it frequently with my sister who is a huge Obama fan. I also posted on my blog tons about Huckabee back in primary days...I too am enjoying learning about McCain. I know Greg is passionate too, we should live closer together so we can have more mind stimulating discussions...I know I need them around here!

Hope all is well with you, maybe we can meet up sometime soon! Coming this way any?

I encourage everyone to listen to the Saddleback Civil Forum where both McCain and Obama answered pointed questions. You can google it. You will see that Obama doesn't have stances on certain issues.
